Engelsman Loop Trail - Long Meadow Trail - Chinquapin Trail - Eucalyptus Trail
- Old Cabin Trail - Wild Boar Trail - baack to Engelsman Trail -- about a 7.5 mile loop
Finally coaxed Jessica back out on a trail ride! Wilder Ranch is right at the coast, about 2 miles north of Santa Cruz (California). The ranch buildings and parking lot are on the west side of Highway 1, and most of the trails are on the east side. |

![]() Quail - there must have been a grass fire in this meadow; this old corral was burned as were many of the eucalyptus trees that were along the trail behind us. |

![]() The Old Cabin Trail winds down through a redwood forest that has a seasonal stream (dry in summer) running through the base of Peasley Gulch, but it was too dark to take pictures in focus. |
![]() Back at the parking lot ... you can clearly see the coast fog overhead. We rode out past the fog bank and into the sunshine - about 3 miles inland |
