Engelsman Loop Trail - Long Meadow Trail - Chinquapin Trail - Eucalyptus Trail
- Old Cabin Trail - Wild Boar Trail - baack to Engelsman Trail -- about a 7.5 mile loop

Finally coaxed Jessica back out on a trail ride!
Wilder Ranch is right at the coast, about 2 miles north of Santa Cruz (California). The ranch buildings and parking lot are on the west side of Highway 1, and most of the trails are on the east side.

Englesman Trail to the Long Meadow Trail. These trails are hard packed and fairly level - ideal for mountain bikers

We leave the Long Meadow Trail here and get on the Chinquapin Trail going back.

California Quail atop a burned post

Quail - there must have been a grass fire in this meadow; this old corral was burned as were many of the eucalyptus trees that were along the trail behind us.

Old Cabin Trail - very scenic trail through Peasley Gulch area

Old Cabin Trail

The Old Cabin Trail winds down through a redwood forest that has a seasonal stream (dry in summer) running through the base of Peasley Gulch, but it was too dark to take pictures in focus.

Back at the parking lot ... you can clearly see the coast fog overhead. We rode out past the fog bank and into the sunshine - about 3 miles inland

Jessica's very nice rig
