Atlantic is re-releasing the Yes catalog (again), with bonus tracks added to the discs this time around & in limited quantity. I recently purchased the re-release of "Yesshows" & it has live bonus tracks as well. --Brett Rains

It doesn't make sense for them to add the Revealing as bonus tracks to "Relayer". However, I heard from the Japanese mailing that Atlantic Records will release the rest of the Yes CDs in miniature sleeves later on this year. That is the first 3 albums and everything else up to Drama.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Legendary progressive rock group Yes has been recording in Vancouver under a shroud of secrecy. The new direction of the band has been the subject of much discussion amongst devoted Yes fans. We at KMC Productions have obtained some sample wave files of their new material. The working title of the project is "Fanmous Anus"...Enjoy!!!
New Yes - The Famous
Anus Project

i just read the following from the latest nfte regarding the latest yes album.
- After taking a short break Yes have returned to the studio with producer Bruce Fairbairn in Vancouver, Canada to resume recording their next studio album. Eight tracks have been completed (including a 3-part suite), with another two to be done before beginning the overdub phase, followed by final mixing.
Does this sound like the epic Yes songs we've been waiting for?????

I just recieved the latest KEYBOARD mag (May) and there's a small note about RETURN TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH at the bottom of pg 14. After the basic info of who's on it, etc. they mention "There will be several concerts in Europe and America to promote the album, the first being in L.A. (Source: Tim Morse)"

Hey Folks, For those looking for a remastered " Flash Fearless Vs. The Zorg Women Part 5 & 6 " ( Bill Bruford on drums )...I found a place to get it. click here

Cool! I didn't know that this had finally made it to CD, Gary. I've had a tape and a copy of the comic book for a while, and it's a lot of fun. The music isn't overly great, but there are a lot of famous people on it like Alice Cooper, Eddie Jobson, and Bill Bruford, and the packaging is great! I'll have to look for a copy.

"Last weekend, I went to visit Moonrise Mountain to see Roxi, Michael and Tami (who was on a brief visit to our area). Before the day of our visit, Roxi emailed and told me she had a couple of "Yes videos" to show us. They turned out to be 2 vids sent by another friend (or 2?) from outside the US - one is Rick on "This is Your Life" and the other is Yes on "Rock Family Trees".The Yes tape also includes half a show from Budapest (includes RSOG and it is a great version!), as well as Yes being interviewd on Hamberg t.v. at their sound check."
Glad you liked it, Anne - I think I supplied a couple of those to Roxi. I have 2 Master copies each of "Rock Family Trees" & "This is Your Life", 1 Master of "Kuno's Yes at Hamburg", and a first gen of the Budapest show. I also have a first gen of the last Buenos Aires show from Argentina TV. (full-show - but they did not play Starship Trooper that night). If anyone here is in PAL territory (e.g. Argentina, Hong Kong?) let me know. I can make you copies too. Getting that Hamburg video took quite a bit of research. I was at the concert in Hamburg with my German friend Detlev. I saw the cameras, and engaged the cameraman in conversation. He didn't speak very good English, so Detlev helped a lot. You know the kind of thing - one-sided entirely selfish stuff. ;)
Are you taping the whole show?
Which TV station are you from?
When will you be showing it?
Anyway - he told us he was from HH1 (a local and small cable station), they were only taping the first three numbers, and he did not know when it would be shown. (Of course, we found out later they taped more than the first three numbers.) (I had been told exactly the same thing about "first three numbers" by a cameraman at Hartford - but they did pack up after America in Hartford).
The show did not go out for a couple of months, and we missed it. Detlev continually pestered the TV station, and eventually he managed to get not one, but two Master copies.
Kuno also conducted an interview with Alan before the gig. If I can find that I will post it here - it's not TOO long. :) He mentions how Mind Drive was his initial composition, then developed by Jon and the others.
Does anyone here know if that Hartford footage ever showed up on TV? I have a video of the rehearsals at Hartford, but not the actual show. There were some promos for the UK tour on VH1 here, which featured live footage. It could have been Hartford, but I couldn't swear.
oh...a very small request from me. If anyone hears ANYTHING about the Europe summer tour, please drop me a line. I have promised to take the family to France this summer on holiday, but I am terrified to actually make a reservation - just in case the dates clash.

I just got the new issue of Progression. This is a wonderful magazine which comes out four times a year. You can get more information about it at http://progressionmagazine.com.
Rick Wakeman's Return to the Centre of the Earth is the cover story. The article is 9 pages long, and has pictures from the Return promo shoot as well as a few older ones. Rick talks about his illness, the making of Return, and why he left Yes. I already knew a lot of the Yes story from amy, but there were a couple quotes I thought were interesting:
"I didn't enjoy the final product [Keys II] because after I left they wiped most of the things off that I did, including one whole piece."
Later on, he said: "I then went to get hold of a master to hear the final cut of Keys to Ascension II, and I couldn't get one. I finally had to threaten to injunct the record in order to get hold of a copy and hear it. I guessed what might happen and sure enough, virtually everything I'd done had been wiped off. I have one CD of what was meant to be the [original] Keys II album, and I'd love one day to get permission from Castle Communications to release it - to let people hear what the real album should have sounded like."
I think most of us were aware that Light[e]ning, a piano intro to Children of Light was dropped. Wakeman had raved about this piece in a NFTE interview. Did anyone else know of any other bits that were dropped, and what songs they were from. I hope Wakeman does get permission to release this, or else that he joins the bootleg market! ;)
The article is great, and ends with "This writer [Mark Andrews] would like to thank Rick Wakeman once again for taking so much time out of his busy schedule for this insightful interview. Our ocnversation lasted some 40 minutes longer than the allocated 45-minute slot granted by his press office. His sincerity and warmth made the interview a pleasure."
Some other tidbits are taken from Progression's Et Cetera section.
Trevor Rabin is doing another movie soundtrack, a Disney film called Whispers.
Peter Banks is putting out a new album of rarities called _Can I Play You Something_, with music he worked on before joining Yes. There will be a couple tracks from Mabel Greer's Toyshop, with Squire on bass.
Steve Howe will be playing guitar on Bob Dylan's new album. Progression doesn't mention Howe's album of Dylan covers, but I guess he must've liked it.

Courtesy of the famed Ordo Pantheris spy network, I've heard quite a few bits of news about the new album and tour.
The band have very nearly finished recording the album, although it looks like it won't see release until the autumn. They are very happy with it. (In comparison, they seem to practically disown _Open Your Eyes_: more than one Yesman consider it an embarrassment.) Obviously people don't want to get their hopes up, but I've heard more than one source describe the album as both a reflection of '70s Yes and a forward progression. I'm looking forward to it.

Hi, here's an unusual one for ya,
Jon Anderson will be performing with the group 4 Him on a Word Records CD called _Streams_ that features various artists. It is a highly anticipated Christian project based on the Devotional book, "Streams In the Desert". This would be one of those rumors I wouldn't believe, but it is absolutely no rumor. Very strange considering that he is a New Age type.
Michael McDonald (from Doobie Bros) is on it, but I know that he is a Christian.
Speaking of Christian music, I run a new list that has to do with Christians that perform Progressive Music (there are a lot more than people think). It is also a list for Christians to discuss prog music in general from a Christian's point of view. Lyric analysis, that sort of thing. Your information is exactly true. The way this came about is because of Jon's connection with guitarist Robin Crow, who is the same guitarist that became friends with Rick Wakeman too. Since 1994 Robin's studio near Nashville TN has become one the busiest in Nashville. Word Inc has been occupying it for several months. At one point during the recording of "Streams" a few members of Yes joined Jon for a short stay at Robin's studio. This was a few months ago, but I can't recall the exact dates. Anyhow, the producer of the "Streams" CD is Brent Bourgois, a big Yes fan, and he wanted to meet Jon at the time and Robin thought it would be cool if Jon would want to join in on some "ideas" for a song. Jon did and added his background vocals to the song.
What makes this strange to me is that 4 Him is one of my favorite Christian music vocal groups and they can sing quite well on there own. I always thought that one of the singers in 4 Him had a kind of Jon-like quality to his voice anyhow.
At any rate, the producer, Word and Robin were knocked out by the results with Jon.

Pretty good interview!!

Please have a look at KUNO Online (http://www.klex.de/kuno). It features an exclusive interview with keyboard wizard Rick Wakeman talking about everything from his latest record "Return To The Centre Of The Earth" to the relationship to his old mates of YES and his friendship with FISH.

I know that it has been noted of the various Yes memorabilia that the Hard Rock Cafe has. I was in Cancun Mexico last week filming a commercial for them when low and behold a guitar across the room caught my eye. Upon further inspection, it turnrd out to be Steve Howe's Gibson EDS1275. The double neck you see in Yessongs. Right next to it is a drum head signed by the BG lineup. On the other side of the guitar is a gold record for GFTO and next to that is an outfit worn by Jon during the BG tour accompanied by a photo of Jon wearing the outfit taken by our very own Tami Freed. Are there any other Hard Rock's showing any Yes memorabila now?

The Morelli Woodwind quintet performs Mood for a Day.
Finally, the performance has been scheduled. Monday, April 26th 4:00 pm at the outdoor ampitheatre by the north entrance to the student union.
So, for any Vegas Yes fans---check it ou!

Below is a link to a very interesting site chock full of information about Yes, Progressive rock and all sorts of other music. I was impressed at the length and depth of the article on Yes and the pages devoted to the various members. They even rank the albums which is always fun to look at (and disagree with, of course!). Allmusic.com.

I recently obtained a pre-release of the forthcoming _Streams_ project from Word Records that Jon guests on (he sings with the group 4Him), on one song. He does a great job on a great song. The song was written by Brent Bourgeois (formerly from Bourgeois/Tagg) who also produced the album. I forget the song title though, possibly called "All That I Need".
The album is a thematic various artist project based around a Christian Devotional book called "Streams In the Desert". Maire Brennan (Clannad) and Michael McDonald (Doobie Bros/solo) are a couple other noteables featured on the project. I saw these two sing their duet from this, a cover of Peter Gabriel's "Don't Give Up" at GMA in Nashville last week. I was very impressed. The Nashville String Machine was the live orchestra for it. Too bad Jon didn't join 4Him for the song they did together. *That* would have been killer.
It would have been neat if Rick Wakeman could have played on the CD. He probably wouldn't have been available to though.

I found this at AMY, thought some of you might be able to help.

Greetings:
I am hoping that *ANYONE* out there may be able to help. I am in DIRE need of a few photos for my book on the history of Asia. As part of a mini-biog section at the beginning of the book, I need a few 'vintage' photos of any of Howe, Wetton, Palmer or Downes. Specifically, I need the following from the original photographers [for permission purposes]
* Howe from 1960's or with Yes in 1970's.
* Wetton with Crimson, Roxy, UK, whatever.* Palmer with ELP or *any* pre-ELP bands.
* Downes - pre-ASIA [Buggles, etc]
I know that this is asking for the moon, but it was worth a shot.
Good quality scans are all that is needed, due to the time
constraints. Thanks in advance for any help you can give.
