Cow Working Clinic at Driscoll Ranch, San Gregorio, CA with trainer Laura Sereno.
Donna's mare is recovering from an injury, so we brought Bella for Donna to ride.
| The first exercise was to stop straight and back up straight. | |

| The second exercise was to do a controlled rollback - I've got a movie of that, but the file is too big to upload to this website. The third exercise is to drive a cow down the fence and play with it a little bit. |

After all the riders had their turn, we stopped for lunch. |
| The next exercise was to target a particular cow in the round pen and drive it out without letting other cows leave with it. This is "sorting" practice. | ![]() |

| After we practiced this a few times in teams, with the other rider standing in the "hole" to keep the other cows in the pen, we started going in to get as many cows as possible out (in no particular order), one at a time, alternating with the other rider after each cow was driven out. Each team had two minutes to get as many cows out as possible. This was the last exercise. I also have video of the excellent job Donna did with Bella in accomplishing this. | |
