Steve Howe and Oliver Wakeman
From: Mike Clarke [mike@whitecottage.softnet.co.uk] - Jan. 31As one of the primary sites of Yes information, I thought the following information published yesterday on the Oliver Wakeman Web Page might be of interest to you and your readers:
"We are now able to confirm that Steve Howe is the mystery guitarist on the new Oliver Wakeman album "The 3 Ages of Magick". This album has now been mixed and we hope to have a pre-release copy very soon. Steve, who is also the executive producer, has been working closely with Oliver on the album since 1998. The recording was completed in late 1999 and the mixing responsibilities handled by Karl Groom (who also mixed 'Jabberwocky') at Thin Ice Studios. The cover artwork has been supplied by Anne Sudworth, a respected fantasy artist who has recently had her work published in a Paper Tiger book.
The personnel line-up is as follows:
Oliver Wakeman - Keyboards, Pianos & Hammond Organ
Steve Howe - Acoustic & Electric Guitars, Steel Guitar
Dave Wagstaffe - Drums & Percussion
Tim Buchanan - Fretted & Fretless Bass
Tony Dixon - Uillean Pipes, Whistles & Flutes
Jo Greenland - Violin"As far as I am aware, this is the first time that Steve Howe has worked on a Wakeman solo album since the 'Six Wives of Henry VIII".
The album is expected to be released in the early part of the 2nd quarter 2001.

Rick Wakeman Back Again Tour
From: Graham Johnson [ggj@dircon.co.uk] - Feb 21From http://www.rwcc.com/ ...
Rick Wakeman's BACK AGAIN tour ......
The end of an era..... Rick Wakeman will be embarking on his final tour of the UK from March 10th until April 8th and this will herald the end of an era that has seen him perform over 500 shows in the UK over the last ten years alone.*******************
From: Wayne Smith [wayne@rwcc.com]
And to give some background to this, Rick is citing a number of reasons, mostly private, all of which leave me in no doubt that this will indeed be the last time you will see him perform solo in the UK, and quite possibly the last time ever... Wayne
Whilst he will continue to listen to proposals, the liklihood seems remote... He basically wants to move on to different things and has some interesting options open to him, many of which will take him out of the public eye. I can't say any more at this time. Wayne
Keys to the Studio
New Release 19 Mar 2001 Yes: Keys To The Studio Ascension (Audio CD)From: Yann Clochec [yclochec@club-internet.fr] Feb 21
The official version is that it will be a two CD set with all the studio tracks already released on KTA 1 and 2 plus the original Wakeman instrumental called "Lightning" which should have been used as the intro for "Children of light" and an alternate version of "Sign language" with vocals. No mention has been made so far of "Axis of love" which was supposed to be included on KTA 2 and was dropped though a completed version exists.

Keys to the Studio slated for March 19 release is delayed until April 23, according to Sanctuary Records who just took over Castle Music.
Don't forget the other concert...
From: Graham Johnson [graham@ggjohnson.co.uk] Feb 23It is probably worth reminding people that Rick is scheduled to appear at the Alfa Centauri electronic music festival on 28th April in the Netherlands. It is 35km from Schiphol airport so should be relatively easy for people to get to from anywhere in the world. A lot easier than Cornwall.
Erik Norlander has been added to the list of performers and will be backed by Arjen Lucassen (Ayreon) on guitar synth and Lana Lane and will be allegedly be playing lots of old analogue synths.
