Waiting in Birmingham International Airport domestic departure lounge this morning at some ungodly hour, I was surprised to see Trevor Rabin on TV. It turned out to be Sky News (satellite) on the departure of Ginger Spice from the Spice Girls with archive footage of their infamous meeting with Nelson Mandela and Prince Charles in South Africa. Rabin also played at the gig for Mandela and appeared at the same press opportunity. Of course, in many ways, Rabin's Rabbitt was the South African Spice Girls of their time...
Took in my Sunday NY Times this morning...
And inside it was this nice, big, glossy insert...
The outside of it was black, with stars, and a digital clock counting down, and the words: " The End Is Near"..
You open it up and it is a big ad, leading with the words "Heads Up."
"ARMAGEDDON"....and a list of credits...and in nice print, it reads:
"MUSIC BY TREVOR RABIN"....
It then unfolds yet again, to a giant photo of a fire ball descending onto the planet earth....and the caption reads: "ON JULY 1ST, SCHOOL'S OUT.....FOREVER."
And then, it unfolds one last time, into a poster about 2 feet by 4 feet, full color, with a picture of the cast of main characters, surrounded by fire, and the word "ARMAGEDDON" in huge print...suitable for hanging on the wall...and way to big to scan.
COOL!!!! Thanks, NY Times!! (Go get your copy today!!!!!)
