Trevor Rabin does the soundtrack for new move: Jack Frost

From: elizabeth (sprg3@thegrid.net) Nov 8

I was just browsing through this Sunday's LA Times Calendar section and noticed that Trevor is going to make an appearance in the upcoming Michael Keaton movie "Jack Frost." Wow! Trevor acting? I don't know whether to be pleased or frightened...

I believe that his "appearance" (from what I've read) is a cameo as part of the band that Michael Keaton's character is a member of in the movie...I think that Trevor was involved with the music (his most recent musical endeavors have all been movie scores - and quite good ones too!), as well as sort of being a "consultant" to Michael re the "band" stuff...

Hey...best 30 seconds of the film, that's what I say.

I read it was supposed to be released this past Friday, the 6th, but it wasn't, at least not in this area (NY/NJ) - anyone know a release date?

According to the ad in the LA Times, "jack frost" is supposed to be released on december 11. unfortunately, word of mouth is not too positive--especially in regards to the trailer--but i don't think that matters to us trevor fans.

by the way, i don't know if there are a lot of bruford fans on this list (i just joined a couple of weeks ago), but earthworks is planning a north american west coast tour in january. one show just went on sale this weekend. i am rather excited since i missed the last earthworks tour that came to california (i think it happened in 1989). i hope that this is of interest to some of you.

As many of you already know (especially if you have visited the Trev bb), Trevor Rabin has scored yet another soon to be released film, FROST, with Michael Keaton.

There is a cool review of his film music, and interview, at this website... SoundtrackNet - features http://www.soundtrack.net/features/interview/11079800.html Here is a brief excerpt from that website:

"I recently had the opportunity to attend the scoring session for Jack Frost to talk with composer Trevor Rabin, fresh off of Enemy of the State. Instead, I ended up interviewing Director Troy Miller, Actor Michael Keaton, Screenwriter Jeff Cesario, and (of course) Composer Trevor Rabin. Let me preface these interviews by saying that the score that Rabin wrote for Jack Frost is completely different from anything else he's scored in the past. The cues I heard were either light comedic cues, or heavily emotional moments , all of which were performed with a full orchestra. This is definitely a score to be on the lookout for!"

Trevor Rabin and Armageddon

From: Christine Paldino (CPaldino@Neumail.com) Nov 19

Just to let you know, that the Armageddon SCORE has been released in its own right. It's excellent (and so is the ConAir score, if anyone is interested in THAT one). I just picked it up on Monday. It'll take some searching, though. Most stores aren't carrying it. I had to hit about a half dozen before I found it, and in that store, only one copy to be found!!!

I'd highly recommend looking for it - it's great music; much better than the "soundtrack" version.

From: BoSease - Nov 10

And also, for anyone who didn't know, the score (Rabin penned...as opposed to the soundtract collection previously released) came out on the shelves today!

Make that the Armageddon score (as opposed to the Armegeddon s/t...etc, etc.)

Rabin's Armageddon Score Reviewed

From: Rob (kudla@pobox.com) Nov 11

Ain't It Cool News has a review of Trevor Rabin's Armageddon score CD which was released last week (not to be confused with the soundtrack CD which is mostly rock songs by other people). You can find it at:

Trevor Rabin's soundtrack new movie: Enemy of the State

From: Scott D. Duncan (sduncan@netdoor.com) Nov 19

I don't know if amyone else has noticed. . .

There are currently advertisements for a movie, "Enemy of the State", starring Gene Hackman and Will Smith. If you look real close at the title page, you can see that Trevor Rabin and (??) someone else have been given credit for the musical score.

Inquiring minds would want to know
