For an instant I thought this cow was going to run along the fence cuz the turnback rider was quite a bit father back.![]() But the cow did a 180 and flew back toward the herd. We turned with it, but Ruby didn't fire fast enough to stay in position. Minus 3 points |
| Overall, we got a 64 score - 4th place out of 8 riders in the 150 Novice class. The judge marked down 3 points for losing working advantage and gave only 1 check (out of 2) for loose rein, amount of courage and eye appeal. I felt our performance was better than the November show where we marked a 67. Ruby probably needed much less rein direction than I was giving her this time, stopped pretty good, went all the way to the fence when necessary, kept pretty good position, had 1 really nice deep cut in the middle of the pen (2nd cow) and 1 pretty nice clean cut off the face of the herd (3rd cow). It was fun! Next show: April 12-13 same beautiful ranch with these same kind of super cattle. | ||
