| Bonnie Scotland | 1853 | TB | Lovin You | Kilkerry | Injured as a two-year old, he made four starts at three, winning the Liverpool St. Leger, placing fourth in the Great Yorkshire Stakes, and managing a second place dead-heat in the Doncaster St. Leger Stakes, defeating the Derby winner Ellington. In his final race he again beat Ellington to win the Doncaster Stakes. He was not tried at stud in England. He was imported as a four year old in 1857 by Captain Cornish and then sold to Reber & Kutz of Lancaster, Ohio. After several more changes of ownership and at nearly twenty years of age he came to General W. E. Harding of the Belle Meade stud in Tennessee. there he established his reputation as a sire and founded the Bonnie Scotland sire line which flourished for nearly another fifty years. Bonnie Scotland led the sires list in 1880 and 1882 in America.
